Morgan Raven: Mitigating Climate Change

A UCSB-led team has presented a first global strategy for studying the risks and potential scale of Marine Anoxic Carbon Storage (MACS) for CO2 removal. Bringing together more than 30 researchers from 16 countries, this team, led by Earth Science Assoc. Prof MRR, analyzed the chemistry, biology, physics, and economics this CO2 removal method. They concluded that MACS may have the potential to contribute significantly to global CO2 removal goals, and they identified key questions for the next steps of research.
