Trespass Permission: None needed, although it would be circumspect to notify the US Forest Service in Bishop.

Directions: Travel north on 395 through Bishop. Continue north on Highway 6 toward Tonopah. After crossing the Owens River (just before Laws), turn r ight onto Silver Canyon Road and proceed east on paved and dirt roads up the alluvial fan. The west side of the array straddles Silver Canyon Road, two miles from the intersection at Highway 6.
From White Mountain Research Station: Proceed west on East Line Road to the Laws-Poleta Road. Turn right and proceed north until it deadends at Silver Canyon Road. Turn right and proceed up the fan to the array at the mouth of the canyon.

Comments: This array crosses the main traces of the White Mountain fault zo ne along the west base of the White Mountains one mile east of Laws, and straddles the same area as the UCSB level line. Bench marks are Class B rod marks driven to refusal and capped with a stainless steel nipple. The 1987 survey measured slope distance s with a HP3808A distance meter, whereas the 1990 survey used a TC2000 total station distance meter.
