Directions: The array is located at the west end of Quail Lake, about 1.5 miles east of the junction of Interstate Highway 5 and State Highway 138.

Comments: This array was established by the National Geodetic Survey across the San Andreas fault and the California Aqueduct in 1964. Bench marks are standard NGS bronze tablets in concrete posts. The previous NGS surveys were in 1964, 1965, 1968, and 1971. Lo s Angeles County surveyed the array in 1978 and 1984. The UCSB survey was a trilateration survey performed with a Wild TC2000 total station distance meter. Line length differences vary nonsystematically from 1 to 5 mm among the pre-UCSB surveys. The diff erence between the UCSB survey and the others varies from 70 to 130 mm. The increase is probably due to different reflector constants between the two different instruments.
