Much thanks to our industry sponsors, including the following companies who provide software that supports our education and research efforts:
Top: U.S. Icebreaker Nathaniel B. Palmer used by UCSB researchers, faculty, students and colleagues during data acquisition in the Ross Sea, Antarctica.
Bottom: R/V Melville used by UCSB researchers, faculty, students and colleagues during data acquisition and coring operations in the Santa Barbara Channel. Computer programs provided to UCSB by our Industry Affiliates were used extensively during this and other marine data acquisition expeditions in the Ross Sea off Antarctica, in the Marmara Sea offshore Turkey, offshore Haiti, and offshore Southern and Baja California to process, analyze & interpret seismic reflection data and to model subsurface geologic structure and stratigraphy. Additional photos show the seismic sources on deck ready to launch and the air bubble off the fantail from the air gun source that generated one of the sound signals used for imaging.
