UCSB Beach Chronologic Sequence, April 1972 - January 2020

UCSB Beach - 25 March 2008, 12:31 pm, high tide of +3 ft due at 12:44 pm. The beach is almost devoid of sand, so that the "beach" consists of bedrock that has been beveled flat. During large storm events, the large rounded boulders at the base of the cliff act as battering rams against the cliff, and their rolling back and forth across the bedrock surface contributes to the erosion and beveling of the rock surface. ©AGS2008
