UCSB Beach Chronologic Sequence, April 1972 - January 2020

UCSB Beach - 6 January 2006, 0857 hrs, Low tide due at 0930 hrs = +1.6 ft. Upper part of beach is littered with kelp and logs. High tide line is evident and indicates that waves of previous high tide did not lap against this section of the beach cliff. The last time they did so with certainty was 29 March 2005. ©Arthur G. UCSB Beach, 5 December 2006. 8:15 am, +6.9 ft high tide due at 8:45 am, glass-smooth sea surface. The width of the beach is rather startling, being a winter beach and with the tide so high. Obviously winter storms have yet to occur or have been ineffective in removing sand.
