| Mt. Humphreys (13,986'), behind our camp at Lower Golden Trout Lake (10,786'), was named for Andrew Atkinson Humphreys, soldier, engineer, and the grandson of Joshua Humphreys, who design the USS Constitution and othe frigates of the War of 1812. Andrew distinguished himself in the Civil War and then was chief engineer of the US Army until he retired in 1879. |
