LP&P RR.046
Here are a couple bents, stained, nailed, and ready to go. The one on the left is nailed with escutcheon pins, the one on the right with brads. Initially I used steel escutcheon pins that my grandfather had, but I ran out and could find only brass pins in the hardware store. I wanted the heads of the pins or brads to rust a little to look a little more prototypical, so I used brads after I ran out of the steel escutcheon pins. Escutcheon pins are used ordinarily by upholsterers. I sure like the escutcheon pins better than the brads, so I'll use brass escutcheon pins if and when I build my next trestle.
