Schematic Maps and Cross Sections of Intrusion of Birch Creek Pluton.
Black polygon outlines eventual outcrop area of pluton. Green/Gray = Wyman Formation; Yellow = Reed Formation; Blue = Deep Spring Formation; Orange = Campito Formation; Red = granite. A-A' is line of cross section. Horizontal line is present level of erosion.
|1. White Mountain anticline formed before intrusion of pluton.||2. Several steep faults, east side up, cut the east flank of the anticline.||3. One of the faults was a conduit for the intrusion, which pushed part of the faulted Reed Formation into the core of the anticline.|
