Schematic Maps and Cross Sections of Intrusion of Birch Creek Pluton.

Black polygon outlines eventual outcrop area of pluton. Green/Gray = Wyman Formation; Yellow = Reed Formation; Blue = Deep Spring Formation; Orange = Campito Formation; Red = granite. A-A' is line of cross section. Horizontal line is present level of erosion.

1. White Mountain anticline formed before intrusion of pluton. 2. Several steep faults, east side up, cut the east flank of the anticline. 3. One of the faults was a conduit for the intrusion, which pushed part of the faulted Reed Formation into the core of the anticline.
