Marine Sediment Geochemistry, Biogeochemistry, and Geomicrobiology Biogeochemical cycling of organic material, methane, and hydrogen in microbially-dominated environments. We employ modern chemical and biological tools in a variety of field, laboratory, and theoretical studies with the goal of understanding the microbially-mediated transformations of energy and organic matter in marine environments.
