| Geofyzica
Brno Kappabridge 2.0 susceptibility bridge, Molspin spinner magnetometer,
alternating field and thermal demagnetization systems, ARM and IRM capabilities. |
|
Cathodoluminescence Microscope (Luminoscope) |
|
| For use
on uncovered thin sections. Certain minerals emit light in the visible spectrum
under luminescence. Common uses: highlights complex zoning in minerals not
otherwise visible with standard petrographic techniques, especially carbonate
and silica cements. |
|
Fluid Inclusion Microscope (Fluid Incl.) |
|
Materials Research Laboratory (MRL) |
|
| The Materials
Research Laboratory in the School of Engineering houses facilities used
by earth scientists: three Rigaku X-ray diffractometers, three NMR spectrometers,
a Nicolet-Magna 850 infrared and Raman spectrometer, three JEOL transmission
electron microscopes, two scanning electron microscopes, an atomic-force
microscope, an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) atomic emission spectrometer,
and a BET porosimiter. |
